Since 1920, Alta Terra has welcomed lovers of unspoiled mountains. Renovated with sustainable materials, this haven in the Cantal region offers cross-country skiing, hiking, a sauna, and organic cuisine. Here, nature and well-being go hand in hand with ethics, even down to the local currency accepted: the Doume.
Alta Terra has been welcoming guests for many years. Back in 1920, this house was already a tourist hotel. But it is thanks to Virginie and Stéphane that, since 2007, it has been welcoming lovers of a gentler, unspoiled, and discreet mountain experience. Everything here has been carefully renovated using local and sustainable materials, limiting the ecological footprint and cooking organic products for the table d'hôte. In winter, the Cantal mountains are perfect for cross-country or Nordic skiing and snowshoeing, followed by a visit to the hammam, sauna, and Nordic bath. In summer, you can hike at your leisure and the hosts are happy to share spots where you will only encounter mouflons and weasels... And if you wish, you can pay with La Doume, the local complementary currency of Puy-de-Dôme and the surrounding area, which facilitates and benefits local trade.
