Arcé

Chez
la famille Arcé

In Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry, on the banks of the Nive River, the Arcé Hotel has managed to remain, despite successive generations, a family inn whose charms are not only intact but also very skillfully maintained.

In the beginning, there was “Au bon vin du pays,” a modest café. It would become an inn and welcome travelers, especially pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. 160 years later, at the foot of the Hautza, on the banks of the Nive d'Urepel, with its pretty tables covered in red and white tablecloths under a row of plane trees, the Arcé hotel is now run by the fifth and sixth generations of the Arcé family. It is still an inn, but over time it has taken a more gastronomic turn without losing any of its soul. Here, the furniture still smells of wax polish, but without remaining stuck in an overly saccharine past. Arcé has always known how to be in tune with the times, with respect, humility, and discernment. It is a rare place that is both soothing and exciting. You'll be captivated by the magic of these mountains and the song of the river...
