Nestled opposite the Mercantour, L’Auberge de la Roche has been reborn after thirty years of neglect. Mickaelle Chabat, Louis-Philippe Riel, and Alexis Bijaoui combine permaculture vegetable gardens, inspired cuisine, and the raw charm of a reinvented house.

You definitely had to be a little crazy to imagine bringing this stone building, abandoned for over 30 years without water or electricity, back to life. And transforming it into an inn where you could live as well as eat (very) well. It took a girl with a head full of ideas, Mickaelle Chabat, and the talent of two chefs, Louis-Philippe Riel and Alexis Bijaoui, to imagine a future for L'Auberge de la Roche. Terraced gardens, permaculture vegetable gardens, a smokehouse for cured meats, local producers almost within earshot, a very clever mix-and-match decor, a castle fireplace, nothing less, here and Celtic baths there... Together, they imagined the ideal inn. With, last but not least, a breathtaking view of the Mercantour.
