At Casa Brava, Julie and Marco have transformed an ancestral farmhouse into a warm and ethical retreat. Through respectful renovation, furnished suites, a permaculture vegetable garden, and slow organic cosmetics, they cultivate a committed lifestyle where nature, well-being, and local craftsmanship come together.
Deciding to return to the lands of their ancestors was one thing, but giving meaning to such a commendable endeavor was another. When Julie and Marco discovered this old stone farmhouse, it was love at first sight. They renovated it, revamped it, and reinvented it while respecting its history, infusing just the right touch of modernity, always keeping in mind both well-being and quality of life, and showing a real commitment to minimizing their impact and using as many local materials as possible. In the former donkey dormitory and old pigsty, they imagined suites, created a small permaculture vegetable garden with a water-recovery system, launched a line of organic slow cosmetics (cold-process soap), and developed accessories made by local artisans. In this Casa Brava (wild house), they established the most virtuous ecosystem possible — respectful of the surrounding nature, of the men and women who work with them, and of the visitors they welcome
