À Apremont-sur-Allier, l’un des plus beaux villages de France, château, jardin, fabriques et cottages composent une parenthèse hors du temps. Au bord de l’Allier, découvrez un Berry intime, entre patrimoine, nature et douceur de vivre.

The Allier River, honey-coloured stone, a quarry that once operated here, and an exceptional garden created in the early 1970s by Gilles de Brissac. A picture-perfect little village, a waterside guinguette in summer… And guest rooms and cottages in which to savour the gentle way of life of the Berry. Each room and cottage bears the name of a woman who helped shape the estate, passed it down through the generations and gave it its distinctive soul—one that Louise and her husband are now committed to preserving: Elvire, after Elvire de Brissac, a writer and Louise’s aunt; Antoinette, after Antoinette Schneider; Rosalie, after Rosalie de Béranger; Zélie, Adélaïde… In the grounds, there is a white garden inspired by Sissinghurst, Vita Sackville-West’s famous garden in Kent; a folly in the form of a Chinese bridge; and another inspired by the Palace of Pavlovsk in Russia, all designed by Alexandre Serebriakoff. And then there is the old washhouse, now transformed into a charming spot for a bite to eat. Don’t leave without trying the Sanciau Berrichon.
