In the heart of the Normandy countryside, not far from Mont-Saint-Michel, Gea and Ruud have settled down and brought their fresh perspective. At Esprit du Bocage, these Dutch entrepreneurs have restored a ruined farmhouse and created bright, simple cottages, breathing new life and energy into this little-known corner of Normandy.
In this part of Normandy, there is the mother, the land, apples, and the Mont (meaning Mont Saint-Michel). It was in this playground, in this in-between place that is the bocage of the Mortain region, that Gea and Ruud imagined Esprit du Bocage. Having fallen in love with a house, then with the region, these two Dutch nationals left everything behind, including their belongings and young children (at that time), and settled in an old farmhouse that was completely in ruins... They bought the neighboring house, then the one next door, to turn them into vacation rentals that reflected their style: simple and bright. They brought a fresh, energetic, and enthusiastic perspective to a part of Normandy that had unfortunately been somewhat neglected due to its isolated location.
