Between Place Bellecour and Perrache, the Hôtel de Verdun 1882 blends heritage and travel. Completely redesigned by its new owners, it reveals an eclectic decor, combining souvenirs from around the world with local craftsmanship. A warm and inspiring place, rooted in the soul of Lyon.
On one side is Place Bellecour, which remains the epicenter of Lyon life, and on the other is Perrache train station. Between the two stands a hotel that has been welcoming travelers and businesspeople, among others, since the 1920s. A couple of experimented travelers took up the torch and completely refurbished it with the help of Studio Olivier Guyot, without taking away any of its soul, even enriching it with their many memories... of travels, of course. In this Hôtel de Verdun 1882: a collection of trunks (the ones with logos, you'll recognize them), another of mugs (English, of course), one of chechias and tarbouches (found in Cairo and Istanbul), and a (more expected) collection of postcards... There is a certain spirit in this vision, where inspirations, nods, and references intermingle, where a few beautiful, well-designed pieces flourish, and where everything is done to promote and support local artisans, not only in the culinary arts but in other areas as well.
