Hôtel Porte Brunet

Located on a promontory facing the world-famous monolithic church of Saint-Emilion, the hotel occupies a historic building in the town center that long served as a watchtower to protect the medieval city. It took all of Benoit Trocard's love for the vineyards on the right bank of the Garonne to transform these 12th-century walls, which once served as the gateway to the village. Without ever compromising the somewhat rustic architecture steeped in history, Benoit Trocard and his partner Laurent Lartigue worked with the architects of Bâtiments de France to restore the building's original exterior color, while architect Thierry Pain added a contemporary touch to the interior design. The result? A true cocoon of understated luxury, where muted tones, designer furniture, and antique pieces create an intimate and refined family home atmosphere. The comfortable living room with its large sofas and table d'hôte invites guests to discover the wines that the Trocard family has been producing for 400 years while nibbling on local products, carefully selected by the hosts. Once you've eaten your fill, slip into the sheets of one of the six bedrooms, each with its own personality. We particularly love the two suites on the second floor with their old ramparts offering 180° views over Saint-Emilion, unless you prefer the view of the vineyards of one of the premier cru classés surrounding the house. Absolute calm is guaranteed for a restful night's sleep.
