L’Officine

Between Flanders and Wallonia, on the Walloon side, fields of flowers stretching as far as the eye can see, a 19th-century manor house, once inhabited by an apothecary, an outbuilding that was used to store carriages, a desire, a manifesto. L'Officine, housed in the outbuilding, is a manifesto in itself. It showcases craftsmanship and Belgian culture. Jessy Van Durme and Piet-Albert Goethals are an artistic director/interior designer and a photographer, respectively, and founders of Akt magazine. Suffice to say that everything here is perfectly measured. The house reflects their image and their work: minimalist without excess, where every piece of furniture and every element is there because it belongs there.
