Casa Almara, located between Cordoba and the sweltering heat of Andalusia, was designed as a refuge. Ivan and Dolo created it with local artisans, sourcing fabrics and objects marked by time. Cement tile floors, a shaded patio, an aged leather armchair: everything here tells a story.
A short drive from Cordoba, in the heart of sun-baked Andalusia, Casa Almara was designed by Ivan, a Basque native who married a local woman. It is a house where one feels sheltered from time and noise, from the scorching wind and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. An antique door with beautiful patina and a mirror with a faded gold frame, an old worn leather armchair and a rocking chair, cement tile floors and a patio; everything seems timeless, as if it has been there forever, imbued with soul. No doubt because, in designing this house, Ivan and his wife Dolo surrounded themselves only with local craftsmen, tirelessly hunting for fabrics and objects imbued with soul.
