Don't be fooled by the apparent jumble of furnishings in this former pilgrims' hotel, now a holiday camp and guest house run by Cyrille Lerisse. At La Colonie, behind the thirty or so windows, everything is perfectly and subtly composed, thought out, and staged, from the rooms to the apartments, including the huge ground floor space, the lounges, the boutique, and the table d'hôte. Some still stop here before continuing on their way to Santiago de Compostela, others settle in and then enjoy themselves in the pastures of the plateau or the beech forest that borders it, all coming together in the gigantic hall on the ground floor in a joyful maelstrom where everything eventually makes sense...
