La Fermette du Merle

Chez
Morgan & Arvid

With its pale stone facade and picture-postcard appearance from another century, this house in the Morvan region seems frozen in time. Gently renovated by a young Dutch couple, La Fermette du Merle combines simplicity, light, and authenticity, inviting guests to enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle.

A door, two windows, and an exterior staircase, pale stone; it looks like a postcard from the turn of the century, not ours, but the one before. It looks like the set of a movie, the first image of a story about the Great War, before it crushed everything in its long wake. A breath of fresh air seems to have swept through this doll's house. In just six months, this young Dutch couple has brightened up this old building with its touching modesty. Light colors, cement tiles, powdery flat surfaces, raw materials; it's simple and incredibly effective. So what? So, we take out the deckchair and just look at the Morvan countryside... And we play, we play as if nothing had happened, or almost nothing, for a little over 100 years; as if we had just gained in comfort; as if we could keep only the best...
