An old french saying goes, “He who has two houses loses his mind,” yet Marielle Leenen and her family seem perfectly sane! Together with her husband, she has designed four ideal homes for families with young children (three to four hours north of Amsterdam, near Lake Markermeer, and one in Brabant, in the south of the country), all brought together in what looks like a collection under the Familie Buitenhuys label. As architects and designers, they don't impose any rules. Here, minds are free, and constraints give way to a resolutely creative spirit. A little recycling, a lot of customization, games and light, touches of humor, and a great deal of talent... we immediately embrace the lifestyle of a family that seems gifted with happiness.
