La Maison du Murier

This is what many would consider the ideal home. They would gather here, at La Maison du Mûrier, as a large tribe, in spacious surroundings where everything they could possibly need would be close at hand: a swimming pool, a pétanque court, a wood-fired hot tub, a pizza oven, an outdoor kitchen, a vaulted cellar... Lovers of old stone would admire the ancient walls, fans of contemporary architecture would marvel at the vast glassed-in space and raw concrete walls, and design aficionados would praise the choice of every piece of furniture. And everyone would congratulate the owners of this house, an Anglo-Japanese couple, for the ambition of this project and their tenacity. It took them a dozen years to transform this partially demolished 17th-century farmhouse into a dream vacation spot.
