In the Perche region of Sarthe, Le Moulin by Hauvette & Madani combines 20th-century design, antique furniture, and items for sale via QR code. A barn for parties, a spacious living room, and a garden with a meadow and stream make up a place that quickly fills with the laughter of parents and the shouting of children
This is a house in the heart of the Perche region of Sarthe that doesn't bother with conventions. Renovated with sincerity and panache (Lucas is one of the two brains behind the Hauvette & Madani architecture studio), Le Moulin was designed as a treasure trove of (lovely) memories. It is a joyful mix of unsigned design pieces, iconic 20th-century furniture and modest rustic finds. An XL-sized living space to enjoy and share, a barn for hosting parties and celebrations, and a large garden with an orchard, meadow and stream—perfect for spreading out, coming together, playing, napping, and imagining life in the countryside…
3 good reasons to go
- because it's a bit like a dream country house without all the hassle...
- because it's a pleasure to see the children running around in the orchard
- because even though it was designed by architects (a star duo), nothing seems fixed or designed to be featured in glossy magazines.
