Don’t look for Oscar. He doesn’t exist. When Augustin celebrated his nieces’ and nephews’ first birthdays, he would give them a stuffed toy — an elephant they always named Oscar. So unless you stumble upon a plush pachyderm… The house itself was found by chance. The two brothers, serial entrepreneurs, bought it on a whim. No plan, no grand design. And within a few months, they had brought this abandoned farmhouse back to life, perched at the edge of a forest in the heart of hunting country. A region — the Ardennes — they had known since childhood. It would become a holiday home, for themselves and for others. They would reinvent it, re-enchant it, walking a tightrope between preservation and demolition, heritage and new construction. They made it sing by pairing old-world charm with sharply curated contemporary pieces (Muller Van Severen, Walter Swennen, Afterroom Studio, Wendy Andreu). Add breakfast prepared each morning, the option of a private chef, and a thoughtful concierge service… Head out for a walk and a lunch will be arranged for you in the former hunting cabin built by their grandfather — now, inevitably, renamed La Cabane Oscar.
