Mas Margot

Chez
Michèle & Julio

In the Llémana Valley, near Girona, a couple is reinventing an 18th-century farmhouse. With its ancient stones, clean lines, and generous spaces, Mas Margot is a contemporary rural retreat designed for slowing down, contemplating, and reconnecting, nestled between unspoiled nature and discreet modernity.

Like many others, after the COVID pandemic, they wanted to change their lives and slow down permanently. And it was in this old 18th-century farmhouse that they reinvented themselves. While preserving its deeply rural identity, they breathed new life into these old, weathered stones with a touch of respectful modernity. Here, tucked away in the Llémana valley, but still within easy reach of Girona, on this property bordered by rustling trees and a whispering stream, there are no superfluous flourishes or exaggerations. While the spaces are rather XXL, the contrast between rusticity and simplicity is enough. The lines are straight, the colors are almost neutral, and the furniture seems to fade into the background. The aim is for the apparent simplicity to encourage letting go, rest, abandonment, and a form of contemplation. It's up to you, then, to slow down, like them, who have traveled the world and been through a lot, then created a real haven that they wanted to share.
