Nectar

Chez
Olivier De Croock & Hannes Lefevere

They met at Antwerp’s legendary Graanmarkt 13 concept store. There, they began dreaming up a hybrid space where food could flirt with the colours and scents of flowers. So you come to Nectar for a coffee, lunch or dinner, and leave with a bouquet tucked under your arm.

They live above their floral studio, concept store and restaurant. More precisely, Olivier De Croock and Hannes Lefevere occupy the upper floor, which transforms according to their needs. Their own living room, for instance, doubles as a private dining room for clients, who linger on the terrace when the weather is fine. This place, which opened in 2025, was something Olivier and Hannes had long dreamed of. Olivier creates floral arrangements and decorates interiors – he is behind the flower installations at Paris Fashion Week shows and at the nearby ultra-chic Botanic Sanctuary hotel. He also offers an enticing selection of objects, including glass vases by artist Nicolas Erauw: unique pieces that have proved a huge hit, with some even making their way to New York. Hannes, meanwhile, was the maître d’ at the restaurant inside Graanmarkt 13, run by chef Seppe Nobels. This concept store, now closed, was Antwerp’s answer to Paris’s Colette. It planted seeds that are now blossoming at Nectar. Hannes takes care of the restaurant, where the very short menu has a French-meets-Belgian feel, blended with an Asian touch – think red scorpionfish, melting potatoes, bimi and saffron hollandaise, for example. Dark wood panelling lines the walls, brown terrazzo covers the floors, and an intriguing still life, a gift from a friend, adds another note. The restaurant also has terrace tables next to the much-talked-about Cobra City restaurant. Another must-try – go for the oysters – where people come as much to see and be seen as to eat.
