Friday Gent

A French sculptor, Jean-Pierre Clémençon, lived in this house, in front of which he placed a tireless bronze knitter, a sculpture originally created in 1976 for an exhibition at the Rodin Museum in Paris. Today, she knits in the shade of a wisteria tree, guardian of a house bought by a young woman who, with the help of the Rearch Architecten studio, completely renovated it and transformed it into a guest house. She took care to preserve the original raw materials, brick walls, staircases, beams, and old wooden floors, adding a few contemporary pieces of furniture by Belgian designers, Dutch porcelain, and tiny details to be discovered over the course of your stay. Friday Gent can also boast of having been awarded the Green Key label, given by the Foundation for Environmental Education (based in Copenhagen) to tourist establishments that demonstrate an ecological approach.
