La Perroya

At first glance, it may not seem like it, but the village of Visan in the Drôme Provençale is well worth a visit. You have to climb to the top to admire the 360° view of the rows of vineyards, cultivated plains, and surrounding villages, and lose yourself in its narrow streets lined with 17th- and 18th-century mansions, to understand that you made the right decision to stop here. Since the summer of 2021, Visan has had another reason to make us stay a little longer. On the church square, a village house has been transformed into a charming guest house. Agathe Perroy, an interior designer in Paris, had considered the Mediterranean islands as a place to settle down. In the end, she found her home in the Enclave des Papes. Eight months of work were needed to breathe new life into the old stones and antique terracotta tiles, the inner courtyard, now featuring a pond, and the various rooms of the house, where travel souvenirs, antique objects, designer furniture, and pieces designed by Agathe coexist in perfect harmony.
