In the Perche region of Sarthe, Anouck and Jean-Baptiste have transformed a house into a “Maison Légère” (Light House): a minimalist space, free of excess, furnished with antique finds. A simple and bright haven, surrounded by 2 hectares of meadows where two friendly donkeys keep watch.
Sometimes, we want to empty, to remove what is superfluous, to purify, to simplify. We want to feel lighter, to no longer have to carry the weight of accumulated fatigue, to no longer bear the emotional burden of objects that are actually useless. Anouck and Jean-Baptiste have proven with this house in the Perche region of Sarthe (in the south, where the stone is often lighter in color than in the north) that it is possible. That it was possible to respect the soul of a house by lightening it, by simplifying its use as much as possible! Here, nothing is superfluous, everything has a meaning, a place. The right place. Fans of second-hand goods (she previously created the brand @superchinerie, specializing in vintage tableware), they hunted for bargains, salvaged items, and gave them a new lease of life. This gives the Maison Légère, set in the heart of 2 hectares of meadows that serve as a playground for two donkeys, Charlotte and Paco, a soul of its own. It encourages guests to do their best, to eat well, sleep well, and live well.
