After traveling throughout Italy, from north to south, first alone and then with their children, Clara and Mikka chose Salento, in the heart of Puglia, as the location for their family home. In Castiglione d'Otranto, they are reinventing a village house with whitewashed vaults, a patio, and a swimming pool, designed for a simple, family-oriented dolce vita.
They traveled all over Italy, first without and then with their kids (they even got married there), before setting their sights on its heel, and finally falling in love with a village house in the heart of Puglia that needed to be completely reinvented. An interior patio, rooms surrounding it, whitewashed walls, XXL volumes under pointed arches, abandoned baroque chests of drawers, a mirror, a forgotten bead curtain, neglected crockery. It was as if this house had chosen them, Clara, Mikka, and their children, and not the other way around. Extensive renovations, a hunt for treasures at a nearby flea market, a custom-made swimming pool (designed above ground, a great idea for small children), clever sourcing from AM.PM or The Socialite Family... this is a well-designed home, without pretension or fuss, for families with children (but not only!), designed for the true dolce vita, where life slows down and everything seems simpler, designed as a new home base, the kind we love to share.

To get there by train?There is a train station in Andrano/Castiglione, accessible via Milan and then Lecce (approximately 18 hours' journey).
