Casa Soleto

Chez
Andrew Trotter & Marcelo Martínez

@salvalopez

An abandoned palace in a forgotten village in Puglia. That was all it took to pique the curiosity of an architect and an interior designer. Andrew Trotter and Marcelo Martínez set about breathing new life into the palazzotto and created Casa Soleto.

In this village in Puglia, time sometimes seems to have stood still. And it had been suspended in this palazzotto for 20 years. When architect Andrew Trotter came across the real estate listing one day in September 2020, he knew nothing about Soleto but immediately understood, even before visiting it, that this was a real encounter. With the help of Marcelo Martínez, they set about reinventing everything, blending influences and styles while revealing and dramatizing the incredible volumes of this house, to which they have breathed new life. The choice of materials, colors, artwork, and furniture creates a powdery atmosphere, as if they wanted to soften and calm the often scorching sun. Unless you prefer fare niente in the small garden behind the house, by the XS swimming pool.

3 good reasons to go

  1. because everything in this house seems to be in its rightful place
  2. because you could be forgiven for thinking you've stepped into a movie set
  3. because it's equidistant from the two coasts, the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea, which frame the boot
Price

4 bedrooms, sleeps up to 9 people, from €4,900 per week (€8,500 in summer)
