Maison Minard

Chez
Elodie Villalon

@elodievillalon

Perched on Pointe Minard, facing the Brittany horizon, this 1980s house, reinvented by the photographer Élodie Vallon, becomes an artists' residence in winter and a guest house in summer. A place of creation, introspection and inspiration.

From here, perched on one of Brittany's highest cliffs at Pointe Minard, with the horizon as your only limit, you could feel invincible and at the same time, learn a lesson of humility. This is undoubtedly why, in the heart of this rural, raw, and sometimes wild landscape, this 1980s house, with its 180° view, completely renovated and masterfully decorated with beautiful antiques, designed by a photographer, has become a haven for artists, whether they are musicians, ceramists, writers, composers, photographers, or others. Elodie Vallon selects the artists who are welcomed here for residencies from October to June (for a maximum of one month) based on their portfolios, their projects, and above all, her gut feeling. It is a unique place that allows them to recharge their batteries, concentrate, reflect, act, implement and achieve, but not necessarily, not obligatorily (unlike most residencies)... During summer, the house welcomes travelers, mostly people who love the arts, who live and breathe them, who support them, on vacation. Without a doubt, they too grasp the energy, the power, and the stimuli that make this place so rare.

3 good reasons to go

  1. because the view of the ever-changing, energy-filled skies of Brittany will recharge your batteries and inspire you to ask yourself the right questions
  2. because from here, you can set off on foot along the GR34 hiking trail and go for a swim in a hidden cove
  3. because this part of Brittany is still beautifully unspoiled
