Chez
Jeanne Jouvet

@pierrick.verny

Jeanne Jouvet has a dream: to revive the cafés and hotels for travelers that once flourished in village squares. To breathe new life and meaning into them. The first demonstration of this dream is in Marsanne, in the heart of the Drôme region.

It takes a great deal of recklessness, stubbornness, determination and conviction, to imagine transforming a Hôtel de France that has stood proudly in the village square for over a century into the beating heart of a town of 2,600 souls, while at the same time defending a certain taste for laziness. Jeanne, not yet 30, must have all of these qualities. Together with the architect and decorator duo Luc & Laëtitia Boulant, they have transformed, revamped, twisted and imagined a new way of thinking about village hotels. Today, there are 17 rooms, some with terraces, generous spaces, clean lines, vintage touches (nice finds!), others clearly more contemporary (nice plaids by Margaux Keller), with almost obsessive attention to bed and bath linens. The whole place is cozy and comfortable, ideal for doing nothing and letting yourself be carried away by the gentle sound of water flowing from the nearby fountain. Add a rather cool restaurant with reasonable prices, and you have the perfect formula. A formula that Jeanne, who is also ambitious, plans to roll out very quickly in other villages...
