We first met them in the heart of the Perche region, where they had imagined D'une Île—which Sofie and Michel have since sold—and then we found them again at Mas Les Vignes, in the heart the Cévennes national park, facing Mont-Lozère. They are back with a second house in a collection affectionately named L’Heure Vide. Head south to Ardèche, not far from Les Vans, the Païolive forest, and the Chazzesac gorges, to an old silkworm farm, a charming village house with a shop on the ground floor, a shaded courtyard, and an enclosed garden. A bright house where beautiful contemporary design signatures (Sancal, Driade) blend with others like Jean Prouvé, and modest antique finds. The bedding is by Cocomat, the ultimate in Greek-made products, and the linens are from the Indo-Dutch brand Khasto. Bohemian spirit at its most desirable.
