Verneuil la Douce

This mini castle, built in the Anglo-Norman style, stands out from afar with its red bricks and turrets. The building, which dates back to 1886, contrasts sharply with its rural surroundings on the edge of the Perche region in the Pays d'Ouche, where the shades of green attract city dwellers in search of peaceful nature. Camille Omerin, the owner and a keen decorator, imagined from her very first visit a poetic place where art would take all forms. She entrusted the interior decoration to several artists to create a unique place where frescoes by Ségolène Deruddier, inspired by mythology and antiquity, mingle with phrases taken from poetry collections. The interior and exterior works, by Margot Gillot, Ben Arpéa, Yassine Makhnache, Alice Louradour, Hermentaire, and others, are as delightful as they are surprising. In the lounges, the magnificent high ceilings and huge windows let in soft light, whatever the season, while countless details recall the tenuous link between art and the art of living. After breakfast, a stroll through the park with its century-old plane trees is a must before taking a dip in the heated pool in 2026.
