Wabi Surf House

Chez
Severine Gevaert & Antoine Geerinckx

At the tip of Brittany, between winds, waves, and endless horizons, these two farmhouses have been reinvented as eco-friendly retreats that live in harmony with the elements. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, early morning surf sessions, and walks along the coastal path, everything here is at one with nature.

In this part of Brittany, at the very edge of the continent, where the land merges with the horizon and the ocean is often stormy, people also surf, windsurf, kitesurf, and paddleboard—in short, they play with the elements, the light, and the waves. So these two farmhouses, completely renovated in the most eco-friendly way possible, sitting almost at water level, also seem to want to become one with nature. Originally “poorly oriented,” their sides have been hollowed out and fitted with gigantic bay windows so that you can see the swell coming and always be ready for a session. And for those who don't surf? They have the customs officers' path at their feet and the sumptuous calvaries of the Bigouden region within cycling distance... A second project, in Plovan, is currently underway.
