Le Mirza
Chez
Maxime Delalande, Julien Moniz, François Rouillé.
Can conviviality and relaxation be combined with fine dining? The proof is in this cheerful bistro run by a friendly and successful trio. Arrive very early or very late to be sure not to miss out on their chips, which are famous throughout Nantes.
“Today it's quiet.” Meaning it's full, but people aren't stepping on each other's toes, unlike on many other nights when you have to elbow your way to get a spot at the bar. François, Julien, and Maxime were looking for a place to have a drink, grab a bite to eat, and cultivate their friendship, so they ended up creating it. Le Mirza sets the tone, with Nino Ferrer songs playing in the background: music, carefree atmosphere, and informal conversation. The food is serious business, with impeccable cooking and bold flavors that don't hesitate to pair cockles with smoked sheep's cheese, pollock with buckwheat, and squash with praline. The wines, exclusively natural, jostle for position on a rich but not excessive menu. From after-work drinks to the end of the night, candles drip onto the bottles and all is well.
