To each their own path with Chemins
Par Stéphane Bréhier, le 27 Jan 2026
It was during a trip to the Himalayas that Alexandre came up with the idea of creating meaningful trips that would allow people to meet others, take a break, or at least slow down without having to travel across the globe, by favoring more responsible modes of transportation. He wanted to create virtuous trips to share.
Last July, just under a year ago, Alexandre and Etienne created a new kind of travel agency. Based in Montélimar, they design itineraries for trips lasting 2, 3, 4, or even 7 days, to be taken by Yuba cargo bike (electric) or MLT Méhari (electric), for couples, groups, families, or tribes. They design tailor-made itineraries with guaranteed wow factor: the road with the most beautiful views, the (passable) path that crosses the most beautiful lavender field, the road that best avoids traffic and noise and visual pollution, the hidden path that leads you to a honey, wine or oil producer for a tasting...
Carbon neutral
Throughout the day, with a zero (or near-zero) carbon footprint, you will travel in relatively short stages (45 km/day by bike—with a range of 100 km—and 70 km in a Méhari—with a range of 140 km -) through magnificent landscapes, meet artisans and artists with exceptional skills, and capture the most secret soul of the region. Each evening, the stops are carefully chosen and comply with strict and precise specifications designed by the two companions: uniqueness and authenticity. "You'll camp on an organic farm in the Vercors, sleep in a guest room in a farmhouse in the heart of the Provençal Baronnies, in a boutique hotel designed in a chic country house in Grignan, Saou or Gigondas, in a tree house in the Bio Valley, or in a luxurious castle in the Comtat Venaissin... "
Barely a year after offering the first itineraries, Alexandre is already imagining new ones. "I'd like to offer trips that follow in the footsteps of great and beautiful stories... I'm thinking of Stevenson's trails, of course, but also La Routo, which starts in Saint Martin de Crau—near Arles—and winds its way to the Italian Piedmont, passing through the Alpilles, the Luberon, and the Ubaye... And why not explore the small Greek islands that are still relatively untouched by tourism by bike, sailing from one to the next with your bike on board?“ Etienne and Alexandre have only one limitation: finding ”trains and sailboats to get to the starting points of their routes..." In the meantime, let's head south, some will cycle, others will take off the top!

In 2026, six new regions will be added to the map, with itineraries tailored to families, couples, or groups: Aubrac, the Pays d'Uzès, Tuscany, the Loire Valley, Corsica, and the Luberon.
