La Belle Vue

At the age of 10, while visiting Paris with her parents, young Swedish girl Yvonne decided that one day she would live in France. She did indeed return at the age of 19, as an au pair, but the experience was inconclusive, and she ended up returning to Stockholm a few years later. She started a family there, embarked on a varied professional career (in social work, then public relations) and much later, when she met her second husband, the idea of another life resurfaced. In 2004, Micke and Yvonne found the 1854 house that would be the setting for their French dream and renovated it, taking care to preserve its original charm. La Belle Vue is located in Neffiès, a village in the Hérault region, not too far from the sea, but a little further inland, close to the flea markets of Pézenas and excellent vineyards. The Swedes, La Belle Vue's main clientele, pass on the tip, but Yvonne likes to mix her guests and get them talking at the table d'hôte, which she opens twice a week.
