Chez
Candy Miller & Charles Teboul

In Béziers, a pleasure palace has been revived on the banks of the Canal du Midi. Candy and her husband have created three guest rooms and an inventive restaurant. With its powdery colors, bold decor, and fine dining, this 19th-century residence has regained its splendor and conviviality.

Along the Canal du Midi, just a stone's throw from downtown Béziers, this pleasure palace has changed its name. It now bears the name of the man who built it at the end of the 19th century, an industrialist who, with his brother, made his fortune with a Bordeaux mixture aptly named Céleste, used to combat mildew. The new owners, who are passionate (and, it must be said, a little crazy to take on such an old lady), have completely re-enchanted the place. Don't be surprised by the subtle powdery colors, the slightly exaggerated mix of materials and patterns, and the seemingly (but only seemingly) random combinations: Candy is Franco-British and has succeeded here in reinventing her expertise and savoir-vivre without ever seeming out of place or over the top. Three guest rooms complement a clearly gourmet restaurant located in what was once the billiard room. Brunch and tea are also served here.
