La Maison Papillons
Chez
Caroline de Burlet & Olivier Girault
At Maison Papillons, art and hospitality merge. Olivier Girault paints, welcomes guests, and shares this reinvented space: swimming pool, olive trees, walks to the Cèze river. A unique guest house, vibrant with an extra touch of soul.
There are certain houses where everything seems to flow naturally, where everything is so natural that there is no room for doubt. This is due to the place itself and to its owners, of course, and to the harmony they have managed to create together. Maison Papillons is one such place: from a house in ruins, this couple has created a living space where family life, Olivier Girault's life as a painter, and welcoming guests blend harmoniously. Be warned, we are talking here about a house with extra soul, which can be savored and appreciated, there by the pool, here in the shade of an olive tree, or here, a short walk away among vineyards and orchards, on the banks of the Cèze... To be savored and appreciated around a table d'hôte (by reservation, of course)...
3 good reasons to go
- because you can bring your children, provided they are over eight years old
- because it is tucked away in a corner of the Gard region that is still largely untouched by tourism
- because it has a decidedly arty and sharing spirit
